Client terms
1. What we do.
We find, vet and present three finalist editors. We do not edit videos and we do not employ the editors.
2. Deposit.
$1,500, credited to the fee. The search starts when we have your deposit, your brief and footage for the trial.
3. Fee.
One month of the hired editor’s agreed pay, $5,000 minimum, due on the editor’s start date. Your deposit is credited against it.
4. Ten-day guarantee.
We confirm three vetted finalists within 5 business days and deliver their trial cuts within 10 business days of receiving your deposit, brief and footage. The clock pauses while we wait on you. If we can’t confirm three finalists within 5 business days, you choose: we refund your deposit in full on request, or you give us more time. The first search includes at most 3 trial cuts.
5. Second search.
If none of the finalists fits, rank the three trial cuts within 3 business days of receiving them and tell us in writing why none fits, then request the second search within 7 days of your ranking. We use your notes to tighten the brief and run one more search, with at most 2 trial cuts, at no extra charge, as long as the role and pay stay the same. A changed role is a new search. The clock pauses while we wait on you. This guarantee does not refund the deposit.
6. Replacement.
If your hired editor resigns, or you let them go for performance, within 90 days of their start date, we find a replacement at no fee. Tell us in writing within 7 days of their last day. It applies only when the fee is paid in full and the role and pay are unchanged. Layoffs and restructuring are not covered. One replacement per placement.
7. Non-circumvention.
If you or your company engage any finalist we introduce, hired or not, within 12 months of the introduction and not through us, the fee is due as if they were hired through us.
8. Footage and trial edits.
Your footage is used only for the trial, shared only with finalists under an NDA, and deleted 30 days after the search closes. The three trial cuts are yours to keep and publish, whoever you hire.
9. Refunds.
The deposit is refunded only as set out in section 4. The fee is non-refundable once the editor starts; the replacement guarantee applies instead.
10. Your editor.
The editor works for you. You are responsible for their pay, contract and taxes.
11. Liability.
Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid us.
